Guests for the week of October 20

Monday

DJ Dangler

DJ Dangler’s comedy is high energy confluence of wit and passion. Equal parts energy and intellect, DJ melds East Coast cynicism and Midwestern charm to present a fresh take on Humans and other idiot species. A firm believer that nothing is off limits, as long as it’s funny, he connects on levels that are universal and unexpected. Equally at home in classrooms and barrooms, his comedy is exciting and hilarious.

DJ grew up in the Indiana pursuing anything that would garner him attention; sports, clubs, arrests, etc. He moved out East after college and intended on obtaining more worthless degrees, but became distracted by telling jokes, and really enjoyed it. He continues to do that today, traveling across America and developing his act. DJ is passionate about comedy, and believes that folks everywhere are fundamentally the same, and if you can make enough of those people laugh, you’ll never have to get a real job. Thursday

Rich Vos

Best known from NBC’s hit reality show “Last Comic Standing,” Rich Vos is one of the most exciting and broadest headlining comedians in the country.  Back Stage Magazine says of Vos, “He has an uncanny ‘Everyman’ ability to likeably bond with anyone in the audience…” The excitement of a Rich Vos show stems from his unique, no-holds-barred perspective on relationships, divorce and parenthood.  Vos pulls no punches when it comes to comedy. On many occasions, he will deliver some of the quickest crowd banter, leaving audiences not knowing what to expect next.

Growing up on the wrong side of the tracks, Vos struggled to beat drug and alcohol addictions.  He now celebrates his victories on stage with stories about kids, divorce, marriage and recovery. Besides being a proud parent of three beautiful girls, he just celebrated 25 years, clean and sober.

His strength as a live performer comes from years of headlining clubs across the country and performing shows for colleges, corporations and charities.  He is inundated with letters of thanks and gratitude for the good work he has done. When he is not on the road, he can be seen regularly at Caroline’s and The Comedy Cellar as well as other clubs all over New York City, which he calls home. Follow Rich on twitter and facebook. John Evans’ comedy career began in Tulsa in 1996, where he quickly earned emcee status at the Tulsa Comedy Club. He then moved to Minneapolis turning into a club favorite at the ACME Comedy Club. After moving to Los Angeles & many road dates later, John has opened for such comedic legends as George Carlin, Dave Chapelle, Mitch Hedberg and Lewis Black. A role in the move “Chillocothe” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival soon followed. In 2002, John was chosen to perform at the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival – soon to follow were appearances on ‘Live at Gotham’ on Comedy Central and ‘Last Comic Standing’ on NBC. Jessimae Peluso

Jessimae Peluso is “a bottle rocket with a pulse,” headed in only the expected, upward trajectory of a firecracker & ready to explode. The self-proclaimed “insecure narcissist,” Jessimae has founded a solid comic reputation in New York City & beyond, slaying audiences with her unequivocal, straightforward, ravishingly raw humor. Slamming listeners with her thoughts on everything from her roots in Syracuse, NY, to her fear of children & her infatuation with John Stamos, Jessimae will hook you in from the moment she hits the stage. The dynamic Jessimae Peluso is an artist in the truest sense of the word, persistently out to challenge herself & her audience.

To avoid a life riddled with meth & unwanted children, Jessimae left Syracuse and headed to Boston, where she performed improv with “The Tribe,” laying the sod for what would become a burgeoning, spontaneous brand of original comedy. In 2009, Jessimae began to bud on stages in the mighty five-borough metropolis. These days she is a blooming voice in the scene, finding welcoming audiences in dozens of local clubs & across the country. Jessimae has performed in numerous comedy festivals, including the Standup Norge Summer Series in Oslo, Norway & she has shared the stage with the great Doug Stanhope whom called her the morning after the gig at 7am to go get waffles. Jessimae has leapt onto the small screen as well with appearances on The Tyra Banks Show, The Bethenny Show, & E!’s Chelsea Lately. She made a couple appearances on MTV’s Failosophy & is a regular on MTV’s hit show Girl Code & coming soon, Jessimae will be hosting MTV’s Spring Break: Cancun.
