The Best of the BOB & TOM Show

Wednesday

Mike Birbiglia

Mike Birbiglia is not only a popular and successful stand-up comedian, he’s also starred in the one-man off-Broadway shows “Sleepwalk With Me” and “My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend,” is the author of the book, “ Sleepwalk With Me And Other Painfully True Stories,” and wrote, starred in and directed the film Sleepwalk with Me (which was based on his one-man-show, which in turn was based on his real life experiences). The film received much critical acclaim and also won the the Best Of NEXT audience award at the Sundance Film Festival. Mike is currently back out on tour. Scott Potasnik

Scott Potasnik’s adventures as a “Sexpert” started early, when, at age 23, he was hired as the fresh-faced young host and senior producer of Playboy TV’s hit series Sexcetera. For the next seven years, Scott traveled the globe reporting on every bizarre aspect of human sexuality known to man. From folks who have sex with balloons (“Looners”), to the underground brothels of Brazil, to the world’s largest outdoor swinger’s campout, “Swingstock,” all the way to Tokyo’s massive fetish party, “Torture Garden,” Scott has seen it all. And today, he is known as the go-to-guy when it comes exploring the comedic side of human sexuality. Scott on Facebook and twitter.

Megan Gailey

Megan Gailey grew up in Indianapolis, the perfect town to raise a delusional upper-middle class Midwestern socialite. With a love of flirting and vacationing, it was a natural fit to leave the monotonous exercise schedule for a life of stand-up.

In the past year Gailey was a finalist in NYC’s Laughing Devil Festival and a featured performer at the Traverse City Winter Comedy Festival. Megan was recently featured in Marie Claire and Chicago Magazine for her comedic risk taking and amazing dresses. And she has finally performed alongside enough famous people that her older brothers no longer hate her. Follow her on twitter. Visit her website here.

Brent Terhune

Characters, voices, one liners, and time-tested monologues-comedian Brent Terhune is the embodiment of all these things and more. Not many comics can pull off Brent’s laid-back style of comedy and still remain just as absurd and funny, but equally relevant and relatable at the same time. Currently, Brent is a writer for the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom Radio Show and he’s the creator, writer, and illustrator of the Uncle Frank comic strip. He’s performed at the Laugh Your Ashville Off Comedy Festiva, The Limestone Comedy Festival, The Cleveland Comedy Festival, and Gilda’s Laugh Fest. Follow him on twitter here. Visit his website here.

Tom Simmons

Tom is not afraid to strip long held beliefs of their credibility with an unprecedented blend of searing logic and great jokes. He questions everything and everyone, respectfully but with absolutely no respect at all. Everyday situations as a father and husband, TV consumer, grocery shopper, tourist, hobby philosopher and average bystander, Tom Simmons finds comedy wherever he takes a good look.

Simmons is a workaholic when it comes to continuously improving his show, not shy to admit that “my best joke has yet to be written.” Though most audience members will find that hard to believe after an hour-long, non-stop torture of their funny muscles. Before Tom Simmons came along, nobody knew how heart wrenching comical it was to question yourself and authority.

For those who can’t witness this outstanding comedian live on stage, Tom Simmons frequently has air time on XM/Sirius satellite radio and on the Bob and Tom syndicated radio show. Parts of his performance can be seen on Comedy Central, Showtime, BETm YouTube and of course on his Web site www.tomsimmonscomedy.com.

Coming soon, Tom Simmon’s fourth live CD, Keep Up, will be released. A full length DVD named “Stand Up Underground” is available now, his work is also listed on iTunes.

Jolie Kerr

Jolie Kerr is the author of the popular column “Ask a Clean Person,” which is featured weekly on Deadspin and Jezebel. Her work has also appeared in Fortune, Cosmopolitan, BlackBook, Gothamist, The Hairpin, and The Awl. She has been featured as a cleaning expert in the New York Observer, O Magazine, InStyle, New York Magazine, Time Out New York, Health Magazine, Parents Magazine. Jolie is a Boston native and graduate of Barnard College, now residing in a teeny, tiny, spotless apartment in New York City. Follow here on twitter. Visit her website here. Cort McCown

Cort McCown is an American actor and comedian.

McCown debuted on the 1985 hit film Teen Wolf with a role as one of Michael J. Fox’s basketball teammates. He followed that with a supporting role as Quint on the 1987 hit teen film Can’t Buy Me Love. In 1989 he had roles in the films Beverly Hills Brats and One Man Force. And 1992 comedy/horror film Auntie Lee’s Meat Pies, with Pat Morita.

In 2001 McCown began touring as a Stand Up Comedian, opening for acts like Andrew Dice Clay, Harland Williams, and Bobby Lee. He is a regular at Los Angeles clubs The World Famous Comedy Store and Laugh Factory.

In 2003 McCown created The Playboy Comedy Tour that was at The Palms Hotel in Las Vegas for 9 years, winning “Best of Las Vegas” several times. He was also the Morning Show host for Playboy Radio when it debuted on Sirius Satellite Radio.

Currently McCown has a Podcast with fellow Comedian Joe Bartnick titled “Insensitivity Training” on All Things Comedy Network. He can also be seen touring clubs across the country performing Standup Comedy. Follow him on twitter and facebook. Visit his website here.

Mike Stankiewicz

Originally from Erie, PA where Mike realized playing second base on the Duck Inn softball team would not propel him to the “Big League”. He moved to Philadelphia to cut his teeth doing stand-up. With his rust belt influence, his intellectual proclivity and a blue-collar approach to humor, he turned Philadelphia on its ear. Stank does for stand-up what Tom Waits does for music. So if you like Mr. Waits and have a penchant for Charles Bukowski, you’ll love Mike Stankiewicz! An interesting aspect to Mike’s career is that he has lived on both coasts (LA and NY) and fits seamlessly in both locations as well as everywhere in between. Winner of the prestigious “Best of Philly” award presented by Philadelphia Magazine, among his international television appearances including “Comedy On The Road” with John Byner on A&E, Mike presents a special wit that transcends all mediums and blows his audiences away! Visit his website here.
